"Doula" is a Greek word meaning "woman servant".  It now refers to an experienced woman who offers emotional and practical support to a woman (or couple or family) before, during and after childbirth.

A doula believes in 'mothering the mother' = to enable a woman to have the most empowering and positive time during her pregnancy, birth and the early days of being a mum.

This precious support helps the whole family to relax and enjoy the new addition to their family.

North Herts Doulas are a collective of doulas who are all self employed and are proud to be supporting families through this special time.
